Artist Statement
As an artist, I look for transitions — not necessarily to photograph, but as a way to learn about the built and natural world around me; people moving through space or time, transitions in a literal or metaphoric way. I don’t set out every day specifically to photograph, rather it is part of my daily being, and I always have a camera and notebook with me. My transitions from one state to the next, through one plane to another are how I learn about my place in the world, and photographic images are how I explain what I have learned.
