Artist Statement

As I navigate through the urban landscapes, what attracts my curiosity most are the complex reflections of store windows. The glass surface, with its ability to be reflective and transparent at the same time, integrates what’s inside the window, the surface of the glass, and the reflected scene. I call this surface the Liminal Plane, a surface that provides surprise transitions and collages together multi-layers of spaces seamlessly. It is a metaphor for the conundrums of our time -- our current throes of cultural and political divisions. In merging parallel realities, bridging distant places, and blending times, Liminal Plane encourages re-imagining both space and time, while exploring non-binary perspectives. The result is an expanding perception of our place in time.
