Library & Resource Center

The Library & Resource Center at Blue Sky holds a permanent collection of more than 1000 books and ephemera related to photography.

Follow this link to explore the Library collection online: Blue Sky Library.

It is a non-circulating collection; you are welcome to enjoy materials at your leisure when Blue Sky is open to the public, but you cannot borrow books from the Library. Watch this video — made by Blue Sky volunteers! — for an introduction to the Library and how to use it.

Donations

Blue Sky appreciates donations of relevant materials to become part of the Library’s permanent collection. However, due to limited space, we are only able to accept donations of the following:

  • Artists monographs by artists who have significantly contributed to the field of photography or are underrepresented in the field

  • Artist monographs from past Blue Sky artists exhibitions, not already in our collection

  • Scholarly publications relevant to the field of photography, published in the past 20 years

  • Exhibition catalouges from exhibitions that received critical acclaim for their contribution to the field

Please view the Library catalog to see if your potential donation is not already part of the collection before contacting staff.

*All donations must be approved by Blue Sky staff in advance*
