Balance No. 2
“Art and commerce. A public statue erected on a pier next to the Columbia River outside a museum in Astoria, OR, next to a tall stack of shipping containers. A free-spinning ship’s propellor anchored to a block of steel. Three graceful curves, designed to move air and water, firmly fastened to the land.
Analog and digital. Black-and-white film, scanned, digitally edited and printed.
Light and shadow. Two hundred and forty-four shades of grey exposed on silver halide.
In essence: Balance and harmony. That’s the mood and feeling I attempted to capture as I created these three images.”
