Artist Statement
My great-grandmother died at an early age in 1943, and was rarely mentioned from then on. Combining family archive photos and letters with my own contemporary images, I attempt to connect with a woman to whom I owe my existence, and to acknowledge her life, decades after being inadvertently erased.
