The omnipresent world of pictures exerts an enormous effect on man. It confronts us in our daily routine and occupies our subconscious so thoroughly that it has become as real to us as experienced reality itself. In my photographs I grasp this image-infused daily life, reacting immediately to its complex collage of isolated simultaneous events, detaching stills out of the abundance of stimuli, and treating its integrated myths and symbols with irony and ambivalence to deprive them of their power.
