Being born in Britain, raised in India and now living in America, my mixed or "marsala" background continually shapes my photographs. My images are participatory interpretations or my life as an Asian-Indian woman living in Diaspora. Because of my early upbringing in England, I approach India as something of an outsider. Albeit, an outsider with nostalgia for the sights and sounds that are my childhood impression of my cultural homeland.
