Quiet and reflective, Oliveira's black and white narrative images tell stories of interiors, personalities and emotions, often creating questions as the viewer attempts to personify the mysteries created by Oliveira's eye for tonality, light, and subject composition.

When I look for images I am often trying to make unspoken connections that are not necessarily literal. I want these photographs to feel as though the viewer is passing through small vignettes that contain some mystery and ambiguity. I am fascinated by the camera's ability to describe the most particular detail while essentially holding back a precise meaning.
