Jungjin Lee

October 2, 2003 - November 1, 2003

Breathtaking in their totality and balance, the images of Jungjin Lee present a self-contained world of stillness and wonder. Her black and white photos are poetic observations, alluring and transforming in their quietness. A significant aspect of Lee’s work is her printing technique, which utilizes a liquid photo-sensitive emulsion brushed on handmade rice paper. This process, often used by Pictorialists at the turn of the last century, produces a richly textured print which further emphasizes Lee’s fusion of image and photographic intent.
