Artist Statement
For most of 2020 we have been isolated in our homes and in our immediate neighborhoods. Walking is a release. I go out every day, mostly staying in stretches of NE and SE Portland that I can reach on foot. These images were made from February through June on an iPhone. To me they reflect isolation, fear, anger and hope.
Artist Bio
II studied photography at the University of Colorado and have made pictures ever since. I served as a docent at the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego, and after moving to Portland volunteered for many years on both on the Exhibition Committee and the Board of Directors of Blue Sky Gallery. My work has been exhibited in local galleries and the Portland Art Museum, as well as outside the state. Images are held in both private and public collections.
