Artist Statement
The photograph of the blue mirrored horse was made on the day after session 1 of FotoFest finished, which was the day before sessions 2 and 3 were cancelled. We were planning to end our travel with a week in New York (including my mother's 90th birthday and her newest Chelsea gallery show opening). We ended up staying nine weeks in COVID-closed New York. I took these photos walking in quiet lower Manhattan and at my mom's studio. With everything closed and all our meetings on Zoom, we were able to to have a marvelous long, long visit with her.
Artist Bio
I am the child of three artist parents. I started printing in the darkroom at age six. Over the last 47 years, I have had 122 solo shows in eight countries. I am a co-founder of Blue Sky, the Portland Grid Project, Photolucida, and Nine Gallery. My work is in the collections of 12 major museums.
