Artist Statement

I'm an older, white male with multiple chronic physical conditions and most of these photographs (KINGDOM(S) 1, 2, 3) address concerns about aging. They are very “of the moment” in this time of the coronavirus which is disproportionally killing older people. The FIRE photo explores a different current issue. A white man looking through or out at these fires of injustice and questioning his responsibility. Did he cause them: did he enable them: did he fight them?
