I spent two weeks in the spring of 2019 singularly focused on photographing Summer Lake, OR and the surrounding areas. I was interested in investigating the shapes, colors, light, and elements that comprise this unique area, but I also wanted to learn about the inhabitants of such a transitional and sometimes harsh environment, past and present.
The opportunity given to me by Playa and the Ford Family Foundation allowed me to immerse myself in my work in a way I have never had before and to interact with myth, expanse, solitude, weather, and darkness.
