My photographs are a visual record of the places I have traveled. I am fortunate to live in Central Oregon and have easy access to the beautiful landscapes of the west. My photographs are unplanned and show the landscape in the moment I happened to be passing through. I am drawn to mountains, symmetry, and lonely trees.
I shoot medium format film with a Yashica Mat 124G. To keep my pack light, I do not use a tripod. My favorite films for landscapes are Kodak Portra 160 for its subtle colors and Kodak Tmax 100 for its smooth tones. When hiking, I try to limit myself to one or two rolls of film so I have more time to simply enjoy being outdoors.
