Monthly Musings: Delights of Home
As I return from a brief hiatus from writing Monthly Musings, we are now fully immersed in winter in the Northern Hemisphere. There is no doubt that the months ahead will bring immense challenges as we continue to isolate and fight the spread of COVID-19, but I am heartened by the fact that the Winter Solstice has just passed. Gradually, the days will become longer and the nights shorter as we move—albeit slowly—towards spring. After a year like 2020, this incremental change of seasons may also serve as a hopeful metaphor for the healing that awaits us in the new year.
While we wait, I offer a virtual exhibition of images from Blue Sky’s online archive of past shows as photographic reminders of the quiet delights that are still possible close to home, now, in the everyday. To learn more about each artist’s work, simply click on the image in the slideshow.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
“Monthly Musings” is written by Exhibitions Director Zemie Barr and highlights work from past and present Blue Sky exhibitions that share a common theme. Thanks for reading.
