While Blue Sky is temporarily closed to the public, members of our staff will be sharing some of their favorite pieces by John Baldessari as a way to provide more virtual access to our current exhibition, Master of Appropriation. Exhibitions Intern Yuyang Zhang picks his favorite piece on view, Some Narrow Views: (Either Tall or Wide):

"Unlike Baldessari’s other works that place unrelated captions beneath images to create loose narratives, Some Narrow Views (Either Tall or Wide) conveys a more directive connotation where texts serve as expirations to the photos. However, the cropped out images still give me feelings that there is a lot of information being left out in this narrow format. This mixture sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity is why I like it a lot."
