Conceived at the on-set of the pandemic after returning from an artist-in-residence at Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, The Place Between is a foldout photo book connecting body to place in an ever changing landscape. Sized at 5 ¼” x 7 ½” when folded, the book includes 16 original images, unfolding to a full size of 26 ½” x 30 ⅓”. With a blend of photographs created at Cascade head and Portland, OR, through the lens of Ebenezer’s trans masculine identity, the book reveals the complexity of transition, the sacredness of gender expansive identities, and seeing those expressions as a vital part of the natural environment.
The book is printed in two limited editions:
100 special editions digitally printed on 100lb silk paper with gold leaf applied by the artist. $90
250 trade editions digitally printed on 100lb silk paper. Priced at $45
10% of all sales will be donated to TransActive Gender Project, which focuses on empowering transgender and gender expansive children, youth, and their families to live healthy lives free of discrimination.
Ebenezer Galluzzo is a gender non-conforming trans man, mother, and husband living in Portland, Oregon. He uses photography as a way to claim and redefine the lens through which he sees the world and the world sees him, revealing his stories in counter balance of the stories attached to him by external cultural forces.
