Announcing Blue Sky's New Executive Director: Molly Newgard!
Blue Sky is excited to announce that Molly Newgard will begin on October 1, 2019 as Executive Director. Molly Newgard has been involved as a patron and professional in the local arts community since arriving in Portland 17 years ago, after stints in San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles. A native of California, she graduated with a BA in French literature and Art History from the University of California, Davis and received an MA in Modern Art History, Theory and Criticism from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
With early experience in start-up for-profit education, Molly spent almost a decade as an adjunct assistant professor of art history, teaching courses in the History of Photography, Contemporary Art, Global Art History and Women in Art at Portland State University and PNCA. Prior to teaching, Molly spent 3 years in the Education department at the Portland Art Museum. More recently, Molly has been honing her development skills at a variety of institutions including Milagro Theatre, Lewis & Clark College, and Morrison Child & Family Services.
Molly currently serves on the boards of Write Around Portland and Amigos de la Americas, Portland Chapter.
