Seeing is integral both to the act of photographing and to our enjoyment of photographs. When we look at portrait photography in particular, we see people we may never meet. Sometimes they seem to gaze back at us, as though we, too, are being seen.

Join us on Friday, December 18, at 5:00pm Pacific time, as Lois Leveen leads a discussion of seeing and being seen in photographs by Jasmine Clarke, Widline Cadet, and Nadiya Imani Loyisa Ntlabati Nacorda, paired with poetry by African Diaspora poets.
