Please join us in the gallery for a presentation, from Diane Jonte-Pace and Michael Kevane, about David Pace’s exhibition The Architecture of L'Ancien Village.
Diane Jonte-Pace is a professor emerita at Santa Clara University and widow of photographer David Pace. She will introduce David's decade-long photographic project in the village of Bereba in Burkina Faso.
Michael Kevane is an economist at Santa Clara University who has been doing research on Burkina Faso since 1995, and is the director for West Africa of Friends of African Village Libraries. He will speak about the complex character of the village of Bereba, the changes to the village over the past decades, the conflict that is engulfing Burkina Faso, and how the war came to Bereba in November 2022.
