Photography as a Lens for the Pandemic, the Pandemic as a Lens for Photography
Wednesdays May 20 and June 3, 5pm
PARTICIPANTS: Upload your images here: https://www.blueskygallery.org/refocusingworkshop
Is a photograph a visually engaging work of art? Or is it a documentary object? Or both?
Many of Blue Sky’s most memorable exhibitions document particular historical moments, social movements, and political realities. As we find ourselves in this unprecedented moment, join us for a series of workshops led by facilitator Lois Leveen. Drawing on work from Blue Sky's Digital Archives, we will explore, we will explore:
-how our experiences of the pandemic may shape the way we respond to photographs in Blue Sky’s collections
-how photographs taken during the global pandemic can document and deepen our understanding of our new reality
-how we can redefine and strengthen community by engaging online with photographs
Participation is free. Register here to receive log-in information: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/refocusing-free-online-participatory-workshop-from-blue-sky-session-2-tickets-106276287236
