Artist Statement
Over the past four years, I have driven from school in Syracuse, NY to home in Portland, OR multiple times. These images are all from a recent trip in March 2021 across the country. To me, these images impart a feeling of transitioning between these two locations - the difficulties of living, existing in communities with their own simultaneous expectations and identities while remaining whole. Excited to be moving back west full time.
