Artist Statement
If transition means moving forward, I wonder why it so often feels like the opposite, like moving backwards to a state of so-called normalcy, which at least in my country was certainly far from perfect. The thought of society regressing scares me more than any other lockdown, and, since at heart I am not a pessimist at all, this is why I arranged these little still lifes in my favourite colour scheme - neon pink and blue and orange and a touch of green on a deep black ground - and photographed the strips coiling back towards themselves.
