Artist Statement
My work is informed by the ever-changing realms of land, sea, and sky. On the shores of Connemara, Ireland, freshwater, sea, and sand commingle to transform the boundaries of the intertidal zone with each ebb and flow. Waves create patterns and release them into abstractions with shifting opacity, contrast, and texture. As the rain feeds the streams of milky freshwater into the sea, the interplay of the raindrops with the camera lens transforms the scene further through subtle shifts in focus and perspective.
