Transition21

From the dormant months of winter to the opening of spring.

Tall, slender trees, arbor vitae, stand draped for winter in protective burlap. With the coming of milder weather and the sun’s warmth, their tender branches push against their wrappings, tentatively revealing the new growth within.

My trees are also figures — perhaps people — enclosed and restricted from movement or interaction, but now beginning to push out, to extend their limbs, waiting to see and be seen again.
