David Joyce

David Joyce’s large-scale black and white images of people combine flat images in three-dimensional space with compelling results. The photo cutouts, some of them life-size, are startling in their realism with sharp detail and their potential for interacting with real objects. The flat, monochromatic, immobile characteristic of the photographs themselves lend an abstract quality to the work, and this creative duality is explored in this body of work.
