Preston Wadley’s “Pentimento” project uses the book as an iconographic artifact, purely visual, in which the image, structure and materials are the content. Rusted iron comprises the surface, and their simple, yet very physical presence of a book speaks to knowledge preserved and communicated. He writes, “My books are evidence of change, a type of historical revision, a Pentimento, reflecting on the connection to what has already been, and an ever-evolving present.
