Screen Culture

January 4, 2007 - January 27, 2007

Chamberlin’s Screen Culture project observes people engaging, and some would say, getting lost in, the media in front and all around them. His color photographs are documentary in approach and are washed in available light, often from the screens themselves. Of his work he writes, “Over the years we have incorporated technology into our lives to such a degree that we no longer notice the role it plays in our daily lives…the technology involved, whether high definition television or portable video games, is purported to increase communication between individuals and allow for greater dissemination of information, but in practice these technologies have isolated us from one another.”
