Humans construct tools and erect buildings, but nature chips away and ultimately prevails; I am compelled to record that reclamation. Just as homes take on some of the characteristics of their inhabitants, formerly used structures modify to align with natural forces at work upon them.
Natural transformations provide gradual transitions from manufactured objects and buildings back to the basic elements of their composition. We can delay this decline by repair and restoration, or we can speed the process by destruction or demolition. I am haunted by the struggle, and create images through which I undertake to reflect that transition.
